يتناول هذا البحث جانبًا من مسيرة الکاتب المسرحي ألفريد فرج، ويدرس خلفياته الثقافية والفکرية التي أثرت الحياة المسرحية في مصر والعالم العربي. حيث يعد فرج من رواد المسرح التراثي والشعبي، وله عدد من المسرحيات التي تذخر بالصور الفکرية. ومما تفرد فيه فرج تبسيطه للتراث العربي والقصص المتوارثة وتوظيفها في إطار مسرحي حديث وبلغة عصرية، سواء الفصحى أو العامية. Abstract: This research studies an aspect of the life of the Egyptian playwright (Alfred Farag). The study investigates the cultural and intellectual backgrounds that influenced the theatrical writings of (Farag), which influenced theatrical life in Egypt and the Arab world. (Farag) is considered as one of the pioneers of traditional and folk theater in Egypt, and he has a number of plays that replete with intellectual images. Among the uniqueness of (Farag) is his simplification of Arabic heritage and inherited stories and their employment in a modern theatrical framework and modern language, whether in classical or colloquial.
